In memory of

Beryl Scott

Beryl's Story

Mum/Beryl was a fiercely competitive scrabble player and the brains behind completing a crossword. She had an egalitarian world view and was a staunch Liberal supporter and party member from an early age.  Always interested in meeting new people, although her opportunities for travel were limited, Mum became a virtual explorer through geographical magazines and friends living around the country and abroad. She had been many things including Bookkeeper and Am. Dram Make-Up Artist, but probably her proudest role was being a Methodist lay-preacher in and around Torrington, North Devon. Although Mum struggled with mental health issues throughout her life, this is not what defined her.
