Suffolk Mind teams up with Ipswich Town Football Club to raise awareness of mental health

Suffolk Mind has joined forces with Ipswich Town Football Club to shine a spotlight on mental health.

The club has released a video which includes high profile Ipswich town players like captain Luke Chambers and new manager Paul Hurst, explaining how ‘together we can all make a difference’.

Suffolk Mind trustee and supporter complete 100 mile bike ride for charity

Two people, a trustee and a Suffolk Mind supporter have cycled 100 miles to raise money for the mental health charity.

Dr Nicky Ridgeway and Julian Tyndale-Biscoe took part in Prudential RideLondon, the greatest festival of cycling in the world, over the weekend (28th/29th July) to raise money for Suffolk Mind.

Suffolk Mind Trustee takes on 100-mile bike ride for charity

A trustee of Suffolk Mind is cycling 100 miles to raise money to help people with mental health difficulties. 

Julian Tyndale-Biscoe is taking part in Prudential RideLondon, the greatest festival of cycling in the world. He will be setting off on 29th July 2018 on his dad’s bike to raise money for Suffolk Mind and Mind nationally. Prudential RideLondon was developed by the Mayor of London and his agencies in 2013. It’s to encourage more healthy and active travel across the capital.

Suffolk Mind Housing Project is rated outstanding

A housing project run by Suffolk Mind has been rated as outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). 

An inspection was carried out at Montrose House in Ipswich on 12th April 2018 where its rating was upgraded from good, after a previous inspection in 2015.

Suffolk Mind celebrates Suffolk Day with Suffolk Storytelling

Suffolk Mind is joining celebrations across the county on Suffolk Day, by hosting a free storytelling event in Ipswich. 

The charity is hoping to enchant children and adults with stories of magical creatures, sword fighting princesses and the Suffolk version of Rumpelstiltskin. There will also be a special guest in the form of Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, who will star in Elmer’s Big Parade Trail across Ipswich in the summer of 2019.

Suffolk Mind celebrates its volunteers

Suffolk Mind has been celebrating the hard work of its volunteers at an event in Ipswich, during national Volunteer Week. 

The charity held an afternoon tea event – with scones freshly baked by chief executive, Jon Neal – at Quay Place on Monday 4th June, to reward those who give up their time to help with making Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health.

Suffolk Mind aims to improve mental wellbeing for residents and businesses in Newmarket

Suffolk Mind, is providing free courses for the residents and businesses of Newmarket to help improve mental wellbeing in the town.

The charity is working with businesses, schools, charities and local government to make Suffolk the best place in the world to talk about and take care of mental health. Now it’s targeting Newmarket to give it the attention it deserves.

Suffolk Mind launches new service to tackle dementia in young people

Suffolk Mind is launching a new service to support people in Suffolk who have traits or a diagnosis of young onset dementia. Figures suggest that those who live with the condition may be up to 6-9% of all people with dementia. Overall in Suffolk, it is estimated that 12,800 people are living with dementia.

Suffolk Mind celebrates after winning another national award

Suffolk Mind is celebrating, after winning another national award for its Heritage and Wellbeing Centre in Ipswich. 

Quay Place, on the historic waterfront of the town, opened on 1st November 2016 and has been awarded at the Civic Trust Awards for the highest standards of historic building conservation.

New mental wellbeing programme for Suffolk children moves a step closer

Work on a new mental wellbeing programme for children in Saxmundham and all of Suffolk has moved a step closer this week, thanks to thousands of pounds being raised for it. 

During their annual Christmas collections, The Rotary Club of Saxmundham and District raised £2,250.00 for EARLY Minds (Emotional Awareness & Resilience Learnt Young), which is run by Suffolk Mind.
