I am running the Royal Parks Half to raise vital funds for Suffolk Mind. I have chosen Suffolk Mind to highlight again the importance of raising awareness of mental health issues in Suffolk. Now more than ever after a tough few years for everyone, we need to keep talking and lose the stigma attached to mental health struggles. I’m certainly someone who should talk more.
I have run many half marathons, yet they never get easier. 13.1 miles of running is tough mentally and physically. The Royal Parks Half is very special to me, I last ran this course against the odds in Oct 2019, 3 months after undergoing emergency perforated bowel surgery. I finished in a respectable time of 2hrs 8mins.
I’m coming back to rewrite my story, I’m fitter, faster and stronger, the time has come to smash the sub 2 hour goal in race conditions.
