Junior walkers – Can you master our Lego Walk?

On 19 May, we are challenging children (age 5 – 12) to take on our Lego Walk (alongside grown ups and 12+ who will be challenging themselves to a Walk of Glass and Fire).

Are you ready to ‘le-go’ of your nerves and walk across 20,000 Lego bricks, helping to raise money for Suffolk Mind and vital mental health services in Suffolk?

In the words of The Lego Movie: “You are the most important person in the universe” – well, in our Suffolk Mind fundraiser at least!

Last year, Suffolk Mind reached 4,670 children and young people (as well as their supporting adults) to teach them how to take care of their mental health.

Your fundraising could support us to help more children this year, alongside other vital support services such as counselling.

Register for the Lego Walk

Tell me more…

Our Lego Walk is hosted by the Suffolk Food Hall, near Ipswich, on Sunday 19 May. Registration fee for the Lego Walk is £10 per person (5 years+).

Join your fellow “brave soles” from 5pm for registration. Our junior challenge will end at approximately 7pm (but if your grown up is walking over our Glass or Fire walks, be prepared to stay longer).

There is lots of outdoor space, and plenty of seating for friends and family to relax, watch you walk and cheer you on (and your feet might even get to bounce on the huge bouncy pillow too, weather dependent).

Entertainment on the night includes the fantastic local choir Pop Chorus, singing some popular songs – Everything is Awesome anyone?

This event is a fun family friendly evening, and we cannot wait to see you all there. Grown ups and older siblings are welcome to try our Lego Walk too or you might want to challenge them to walk on ‘shards’ of glass or attempt our Fire Walk.

The café will be open serving their delicious hot and cold drinks and warm snacks, including their popular ‘firecracker’ sausage roll. If the weather is kind, then the gelato hut will be open too – yum! All available for you to purchase on the night.

How do I take part?

Step 1: Sign up for the Lego Walk. Registration for our Lego Walk costs £10 per person (child or adult), which is non-refundable.

Step 2: Create a Giving Page on our Suffolk Mind website. It’s quick and simple, and by using our website we don’t lose any admin fees to other Giving platforms.

Participants must be aged 5+. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult (accompanying adults do not have to take part in the challenge).

Your entry fee covers the cost of the Lego walk. Please note there is an additional charge if over 12’s wish to also take part in the Fire and Glass walks.

Before registering, please take a look at our Terms and Conditions – 2024 Lego Walk.

How much do I need to raise?

This is a real challenge so we hope that you try to raise as much as you can for Suffolk Mind.

We recommend setting your target to £35 minimum fundraising.

In the words of Emmet (The Lego Movie) “You are the most talented, most interesting, and most extraordinary person in the universe. And you are capable of amazing things. Because you are the Special One. And so am I. And so is everyone. The prophecy is made up, but it’s also true. It’s about all of us. Right now, it’s about you. And you… still… can change everything.”

Can I bring guests?

You’re very welcome to bring along family and friends to cheer you on. Please ensure your guest(s) book their free space, so we know how many people to expect on the night. Please note: guests aged under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Book guest tickets

Is it safe?

Absolutely! This walk is run by UK Firewalk who have years of experience and have run hundreds of safe walks up and down the country.

They teach you how to walk in the most comfortable way possible (although remember you are walking on 20,000 blocks of Lego – ouch!).

Photos will be taken by Suffolk Mind and UK Firewalk for use on social media and future advertising. Please let us know if you do not wish to be pictured before the event.
