April 2025: Thank you from Suffolk Mind
We’d like to say a big THANK YOU to all of these fantastic businesses and individuals who have helped us raise vital funds for Suffolk Mind this month.
Broadway
Thank you to Broadway Colours, who took part in the Business Fives charity football tournament in Norwich in March! They had a stellar match and although they didn’t win, they generously made a donation of £250 to Suffolk Mind. Thank you so much!
Glowcroft
Thank you to Glowcroft, who have raised an amazing £1,398 through a variety of fundraising activities this year. This could help run our Helpline for a week AND provide six fully-funded counselling sessions for someone in need. Thank you so much!
Greene King
Thank you Greene King, whose Finance Centre of Excellence in Bury ran an Easter tombola with around 120 people in attendance! The team raised a wonderful £501.15 for Suffolk Mind which is a huge achievement. These funds could enable us to keep our Helpline running for almost three days, or provide nearly nine fully-funded counselling sessions to those in need.
Jake Thorpe
Thank you Jake Thorpe, who ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon which is a huge achievement! Jake raised £238, exceeding his fundraising target which is fantastic. These funds could enable us to work with a whole class of Early Years or SEND children with our Sammy the Sea Squirt Movement Sessions, teaching them the importance of movement for their mental health.
Lee Gardner
Thank you Lee Gardner, who raised an amazing £200 for Suffolk Mind from his charity boxing match on 5 April. Lee’s determination and fundraising efforts could help us to provide nearly four fully-funded counselling sessions for someone in need!
Luke Johnson
Thank you Luke Johnson and his class from Suffolk New College, who chose Suffolk Mind to benefit from their form’s social impact project. The class worked together to raise £20.83 which could keep our Helpline operating for nearly an hour, reaching around 17 people looking for advice, information, or immediate support. Thank you!
Michael Ince
Thank you to Michael Ince, who undertook a brave physical challenge to raise money and awareness of mental health on 25 April. Michael chose Suffolk Mind as he has adopted tools and guidance from our services to help him overcome mental ill health, so wanted to give back to help others in a similar situation. Michael raised an impressive £390 which could help us offer almost eight fully funded counselling sessions for people in need!
Millie Beckwith
On 8 April, a team of first year business students from the University of Suffolk ran a wellness retreat, Wellnest, for an assignment to raise awareness of student mental health and the importance of self-care. They organised a virtual reality tent to take attendees to their safe space, a craft table to think about gratitude, and provided wellness goodies to evoke a feeling of calm through the senses. A big thank you to Millie, Lee, Kacy, and Eli for all their hard work in raising a wonderful £198 to help us continue our work of supporting Suffolk’s mental health. This amount of money could enable us to deliver a Life Hacks for Young Minds assembly for up to 600 students to help them find strategies and support them to stay well.
Moon’s Wood
Thank you to Mel Gurdon from Moon’s Wood in Burgh, who set up a Easter egg hunt, campfires, and a bake sale to create a family fun day in aid of Suffolk Mind! Proceeds came to £159.91 which is a fantastic amount to raise. This could keep our Helpline running for more than six hours, potentially reaching more than 100 people looking for advice, information, or immediate support.
Quay Church
At the end of March, Quay Church in Woodbridge put on a community fair to bring people together and raise money for Suffolk Mind. Members of the church and the community raised an incredible £671.78 combined. These funds could help us to provide the materials and tools for one of our GreenCare allotments for an entire year! Thank you Jane, Kevin, and the whole team for their hard work in organising a successful event.Â
Rodney Middleton
Thank you to Rodney Middleton and the staff from the Railway Tavern in Saxmundham, who chose to raise money for our charity by organising an Easter raffle from March to April. Plus, they hosted a Race Night on 15 March!
Robert Fletcher
Thank you to Robert Fletcher and the team for organising the Grundisburgh Coffee Morning on 5 April. The team and community came together to raise a fantastic £225 for our charity! These funds could enable us to provide four funded counselling sessions for someone in need, or keep our Helpline running for over a day, potentially reaching 150 people looking for advice, information, or immediate support.
Sandra and Wayne Price
Thank you to Sandra and Wayne Price who ran the Brighton Marathon for us in early April and raised an amazing £867.13 including Gift Aid! This amount of money means our CFYP team could go into two schools and deliver our Life Hacks for Young Minds assembly to a group of students, helping them consider specific challenges to their age group and giving them support to stay well.
Wickham Skeith Hilltop Women’s Group
Thank you to the Wickham Skeith Hilltop Women’s Group, who recently had a visit from our Chair of Trustees, Ian White, to introduce the ladies to Suffolk Mind and our Emotional Needs & Resources approach to mental health. Jocelyn and the group have been raising money for mental health too and raised a fantastic £129.71!
