Emma Lightfoot

Ambassador

I first encountered Suffolk Mind when I was studying at University of Suffolk and attended a free Emotional Needs session, I was then able to complete the Comprehensive Toolkit training as part of a role in HR within our family business. I found this training to introduce a quite different approach which has been extremely useful to me.

I run Orwell Lady (a passenger boat in Ipswich) and am one of the founders of Ipswich Book Festival, both have enabled me to continue working and engaging with Suffolk Mind on various small, but worthwhile, projects and events. The other string to my bow is a psychology PhD exploring how to support owners or caregivers through the death or loss of their pet or the animal they look after. I will be speaking on this topic at Suffolk Mind’s Suffolk Forward networking event in March 2026.
