Hi there, welcome to my fundraising page for Suffolk Mind.
On April 21st 2024 I will be taking part in this year’s TCS London Marathon.
This will be my first full marathon.
I hope to raise some funds for Suffolk Mind to help them support others in times of need.
In August of 2022, I suffered a personal crisis which turned my world upside down. My mental health suffered as a result of this.
However, I found Suffolk Mind and at the same time I started jogging and a new fitness routine to help me cope with the stress and anxiety.
Having enjoyed fitness and especially running in my youth, I hadn’t been very active for some 20 years!
Family, life and work had all played their part in me not being as active as I should of been.
Fast forward to 2024 and I was fortunate enough to secure a place in the London Marathon through the ballot system.
I joined a running club and the local gym and kickstarted my running and fitness journey. My work colleagues even nickname me “Hartley the Hare” now!
I have made some great friends along my journey and with the continued help of the Suffolk Mind website help and support portals, my journey continues.
We all have mental health, it is a subject that is important to everyone’s wellbeing and happiness.
Please have a look at their website it is packed with useful tools and resources to help you.
Thank you for your donation and inspiring me further to raise as much awareness and funds as I can, and to cross that finishing line on the Mall in London on April 21st.
Thank You,
Simon
