Suffolk Whole Hog 2025
05 Oct 2025
What could be more fun than fresh air, obstacles, friends, mud and mess?!
Plus, you can enjoy all of this while raising money for Suffolk Mind!
Tell me more…
The Suffolk Whole Hog race is around five miles long, takes place in a beautiful country location and you are guaranteed lots of obstacles, lots of mud and lots of water! You can expect to be crawling (under cargo nets), climbing (up steep banks and walls), wading through rivers (never swimming), plus plenty of tunnels, slides, jumps, swings and monkey bars.
Expect to be tired, expect to be wet and muddy, and expect to go the Whole Hog!
Participants must be aged 16+, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Your entry fee covers the cost of the run and a free of charge ‘Supporting Suffolk Mind’ t-shirt, available in a choice of colours.
Photos may be taken by Suffolk Mind and used for use on social media and future advertising. If you do not wish to be pictured, please let us know before or at the event.
How do I sign up?
Step 1: Register your space
Registration costs £20, which is non-refundable. Please note there are limited spaces available so register early to avoid disappointment!
Step 2: Create a Giving Page
It’s quick and simple, and by setting one up on our website, we won’t lose admin fees to other giving platforms.
How much do I need to raise?
This challenge is there for thrillseekers with grit and determination, and we’d be delighted if all Whole Hoggers could aim to raise minimum sponsorship target of £130.
By choosing to be a Whole Hogger, you’re supporting Suffolk Mind to make Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health.
Of course, if you want to set your target higher and think you can ‘swish and slide’ past £130, please do!
FAQs
When and where is the Whole Hog held?
Taking place on Sunday 5 October 2025, The Whole Hog takes place at Wantisden Hall in Suffolk, which is easily accessible from both North and West Suffolk via the A14 and A12. Team Suffolk Mind’s entry is for Wave 3, an 11.30am start.
The address is: Wantisden Hall, Wantisden Valley, Woodbridge, Suffolk, IP12 3PQ
Is there parking available?
Yes, parking is in the main area of Wantisden Hall. Please navigate to Wantisden Hall and you will then pick up signs for the Whole Hog event once in the grounds.
Who can take part?
We have a minimum age of 16 but no maximum ages. The events are open to all levels of fitness but you should look for the average times to get an idea of the actual fitness levels required.
Needless to say the event will feel much easier if you have done some training beforehand, and you should always get checked out by your GP to make sure that you are able to take part.
Can I bring guests?
You’re very welcome to bring along support, as guests add to the atmosphere on the day and help bring the event to life. We have viewing areas for spectators at the start, middle of the course (within close proximity of the start) and finish line.
Please note: guests aged under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
What facilities will there be?
We will have food and drinks on-site along with toilets and changing facilities. Showers will not be available so come prepared. Be prepared to get dirty… these aren’t road races so bring a change of clothing with you!
What should I wear?
The majority will be off-road and we therefore recommend off-road clothing and footwear. There will be also be lots of additional challenges.
You will be best off in trainers for these (please don’t wear spikes due to some of the obstacles).
We suggest long-sleeved tops and leggings to cover those knees. Gloves will also be a good idea.
Is there timing?
Certainly! We have a fantastic e-chip timing system, which provides us with quick, acurate timing for all competitors.
Any other information I should know?
Make sure that you arrive with plenty of time to get organised, register and get to the starting area.
The race briefing will be at the registration area which will be confirmed once you have booked.
Don’t forget to bring a towel and a set of dry clothes (showers won’t be available).
Please email our Fundraising team to find out more about the event, or if you have any trouble setting up your Giving Page. You can also take a look at the event Terms & Conditions.
