Support for educators

Our workshops, programmes and resources aim to equip students to take care of their own wellbeing and that of those around them.

Suffolk Mind give school staff, parents and carers the practical skills and knowledge to support themselves and their children.

We are in the process of updating our webpages for those who work with children and young people. In the meantime, please contact for further information.

Support for primary schools

We provide a programme for primary schools called EARLY Minds. Delivered in classrooms by a qualified primary school teacher, EARLY Minds teaches primary age children about their emotional needs through stories, activities and movement. EARLY Minds enables both children and adults to learn to talk about and take care of their own mental health and to better understand how to help those around them.

Sammy the Sea Squirt Movement Sessions are specifically designed for EYFS, KS1 and SEND classes. These sessions are based on Suffolk Mind’s first story book, Sammy the Sea Squirt, which encourages children to link the benefits of movement with good mental health. Sammy travels through the ocean discovering new friends, learning how maovement helps their brain including their mood and memory. This is an inclusive session, with movements that can be adapted for different abilities.

Support for secondary schools

Get support for your secondary school age students. Our young people’s team can come in and deliver a 45-minute class, or assembly talk, introducing mental health and emotional needs for your pupils, Life Hacks for the Teenage Brain. We will talk about about mental health, sleep, and tools for overcoming anxiety and stress.

The Teenage Toolkit is a practical 2.5 hour workshop designed for young people. This workshop aims to equip young people with mental health awareness and practical skills, enabling them to look after their wellbeing as they mature into young adults.

Support for school staff

Emotional Wellbeing in the Classroom is for school staff, to teach them the skills to be able to look after their own wellbeing, as well as that of their class. This course is for you as well as for your pupils. It will help you to manage the emotional health of the whole classroom, including both the pupils and staff.

Our Workplace Wellbeing Culture Programme focuses on understanding your staff and supporting your leadership team to implement strategies which support wellbeing. Teachers will develop the understanding and confidence to deal with mental health in primary and secondary schools.

You and your school can also book onto a range of courses from The Mental Health Toolkit – Suffolk Mind’s workplace wellbeing training programme.

Support for activity groups

Emotional Wellbeing in Children’s Activities is designed for people who run children’s groups and activities.
