Suffolk’s Needs Met – Our introduction to mental health training
Suffolk’s Needs Met is all about giving you an understanding of what it means to be emotionally healthy, why it is important and how emotional health supports physical health. Most of all, Suffolk’s Needs Met is about us working together to create emotionally healthy places to enjoy living and working in.
Who is Suffolk’s Needs Met for?
Suffolk’s Needs Met is for you, your family and friends, and work colleagues. Your Needs Met is for anybody with emotional health – and that means everybody!

The trainer was extremely knowledgeable, professional and approachable. The session felt as though it was the right amount of time, and it went into a lot of detail without feeling overwhelming. This is one of the best training sessions I have ever been to – thank you! I also appreciated the frequent breaks, because it really helped me to process the information and focus.
Research
You’re invited to be part of our research into Suffolk’s wellbeing. The Emotional Needs Survey involves rating how well each of your 12 emotional needs are currently met. It will take 3-5 minutes.
This research will create an overall picture of how well Suffolk is meeting its emotional needs. This is so we can hopefully build on what’s working, and target what isn’t.
“It was brilliant! I learnt so much, both for work but also for myself. I’ve been telling my family and friends all about it – just fascinating yet such a simple concept. I would 100% recommend it to others. In terms of my work, it’s really helpful to think about how what we might be communicating – particularly if it’s not good news – can impact our colleagues security, control, meaning etc. and consider how we can minimise the impact or at least just be aware of and acknowledge how colleagues may be feeling.”
