Bury St Edmunds Counsellor
Why did you become a counsellor?
I was drawn to counselling through my own experience of therapy. For much of my life, I struggled without enough support and coped by pushing down my feelings and parts of myself that felt too difficult to face. Eventually, those ways of coping stopped working, and therapy became a place where things began to change.
Having a safe, non-judgemental space where I could be fully myself and slowly look at parts of me I had avoided for a long time was life-changing. It helped me realise that those parts weren’t as overwhelming or unacceptable as I had believed, and that I could begin to accept and integrate them. This process has helped me feel more whole and has changed the way I relate to myself and my life.
Hobbies: Outside of counselling, I enjoy swimming regularly, including wild swimming! I like going for walks in sunny weather and value both time alone and time with friends. I’m very drawn to creative projects, particularly painting.
