The
COVID-19 pandemic has changed our way of life and created previously
unimaginable circumstances in which the value of helping others cannot be
underestimated. Saying ‘thank you’ has never been more important and while
frontline healthcare professionals are rightfully recognised for their huge
efforts to help those who are unwell over this period, there are also many
other less celebrated acts of kindness and generosity in every town and
village.
The campaign is supporting two local charities with
donations being made by businesses who would like to support and receive the
Suffolk Says Thanks badges for their staff, volunteers or clients. Making a donation on this page means 50% will go to each charity. We re also asking if you can leave your message of thanks as a comment on the page please, so we can have a trail of thank yous to add to the campaign!Â
Family Support charity, Home-Start in Suffolk, is a volunteer
led organisation that supports more than 550 Suffolk families each year as they
navigate their way through difficult and challenging circumstances such as poor
mental health, disability, poverty, long term and terminal illness, domestic
abuse, isolation, bereavement and much more. Through one-to-one volunteer
support and group activities, Home-Start in Suffolk aims to give children the
best possible start in life. Their award-winning team of more than 270 fully
trained, dedicated and compassionate volunteers support parents to grow in
confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children, improve their
health and wellbeing and widen their links locally.
Suffolk
Mind’s mission is to make Suffolk the
best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health. Our
approach to mental health is that all of us have mental health, just as we have physical health.
We are all on the mental health continuum – and we move up and down it
depending on how we cope with the challenges of life and the stresses that it
creates.
Suffolk Mind works across the continuum, from wellbeing to
‘severe and enduring’ mental ill-health, providing support & information
for everyone. Our services are reaching more people across Suffolk each year.
Your donations will help us to continue to grow.
