The 46th edition of the biggest multi-charity fundraising event in Suffolk will be on Sunday 25th June 2023.

Open to walkers and runners of all abilities the Orwell Challenge follows the banks of the stunning river Orwell as it heads towards Felixstowe, returning inland through the beautiful Suffolk countryside. Walkers can choose between 13, 19 or 25 miles, whilst runners can take on the half or full marathon.

All routes are well signposted and marshalled, with regular checkpoints where drinks will be available. First aiders will be stationed along the route and participants will be transported back to the headquarters at Gainsborough Sports Centre if they decide they can go no further.

The Orwell Challenge abides by the rules of England Athletics and is a validated Trail run. All registered participants receive a commemorative medal, with runners receiving a t-shirt as part of their entry fee.

For more information and FAQs about the event, please visit The Orwell Challenge website.

If you would like to take part in this challenge and raise money for Suffolk Mind, please set up your Suffolk Mind giving page here and then register your entry with the Orwell Challenge organisers. Online sign up is now open, and you’ll get an early-bird discount if you sign up before 28th February 2023.

All funds raised for Suffolk Mind will go towards supporting our services and will help to make Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health.
