Mental Health Awareness Week
Mental Health Awareness Week
Every May we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW).
This year it’s 11th to 17th May, and the theme is ‘Take Action’.
At Suffolk Mind, we take action every day to support people’s mental health in Suffolk, Sawston and further afield. Our services are there to support people at any point on the Mental Health Continuum, from people learning how to keep well, to people experiencing stress, anxiety, and depression, to people living with a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder, bipolar, or schizophrenia for example.
How can you support Suffolk Mind this Mental Health Awareness Week?
Fundraise for us!
Every £1 raised for Suffolk Mind stays in Suffolk to support local people. Quiz nights, bake sales, fancy dress days etc. can all raise hundreds of pounds for charity without too much organising. Get your workplace, community group, or school together to do something amazing this MHAW. Get started here.
Book a mental health workshop from us
Did you know that investing in The Mental Health Toolkit training means you’re supporting Suffolk Mind? Profits from The Mental Health Toolkit go straight back into Suffolk Mind’s work. So, you’re not only getting award winning training for your staff, you’re helping your community too.
Shout about us and stay in touch
Share our posts and content on socials with your networks to help us reach more people who need our support (and more people willing to support us too). It’s free and takes less than five seconds to repost or engage with one of our posts on LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram, but it really helps us!
You can also sign up to our newsletter to keep up to date with our services, good news stories, events and training courses.
Share our new film for suicide prevention
More than one person takes their life every week in Suffolk. Mental Health Awareness Week isn’t a tick box awareness campaign for us to wear green. It’s a point in the year where the focus of the country is on Mental Health, and what we can do to support ourselves and each other. Our new webpage has support.Â
We’ve released a new short film encouraging people to notice signs something might be wrong, and to ask a question that could save a life: ‘Are you having thoughts of suicide?’
Watch our new film, and please share it far and wide.
