Our free Anger Management courses run over two five hour sessions in Ipswich or Bury St Edmunds and for anyone aged 18+.
Our Anger Management course will help you to:
- Recognise what anger is and learn ways of accepting it as a normal emotion.
- Deal with anger in ways that are appropriate and constructive.
- Understand more about how we behave and interact with others.
Course details
Our courses are currently FREE due to funding that Suffolk Mind has been awarded. The course is over two days and participants must be able to attend both course sessions. Our courses currently run during the day, Monday to Friday.
Our courses can have up to 14 participants in each session BUT there is NO expectation that you participate beyond the level you feel comfortable with, you do not need to speak if you do not want to.
Members of each course are expected to be supportive of each other, by listening and not being judgemental in their feedback or suggestions. Everyone is to have the opportunity to talk and contribute to the group. If there is something that you don’t understand then feel free to ask. There is no such thing as a “silly question” – only those that you have yet to find the answer to.
You will receive a course booklet and certificate of attendance at the end of the course.
How to self-refer
To self-refer please complete our referral form. If you need further information please call 0300 111 6000.
Only upon receipt of your referral we will send an email listing all our upcoming courses over the next 12 months. This email will ask you to call us on 0300 111 6000 to reserve a place on one of these courses and we will then post you a number of forms for you to complete and return by a certain date. These forms will ask you in more detail about how anger affects you personally etc. ONLY once these forms have been returned to us will your place be confirmed by email, please note that if your forms are not received by the deadline your reserved place will be offered to someone else.
Cancellations
If you no longer wish to pursue your referral or wish to cancel a booking on a course, please call us on 0300 111 6000.
We have recently experienced a high volume of people not showing up for their course. We receive very limited funding by external grant providers and we are only able to offer a certain number of courses. Each course has a maximum number of 14 spaces, and each place costs us £112.00. Therefore if someone does not attend their course on the day, we are unable to offer this space to someone else who would benefit from attending.
