Peter is running 3 marathons in the Great Barrow Challenge!
Peter is planning on running 3 of the 10 marathons that form part of the “10 in 10” Great Barrow Challenge marathon series this year and raise funds and awareness of Suffolk Mind.
“I am running for those who have a bad day and need someone to say “Hi”, I am running for those who have bad weeks and need someone to say “are you ok, do you want to grab a coffee and have a chat?” and for those who have bad months and need someone to say “it’s ok, let’s talk it through , it’s not just you”.
I am running for Suffolk Mind because of the work they do to offer people the chance to get some space, to talk things through and get the help they need.
I am running for Suffolk Mind because I guess I am lucky in that I have bad days, I have bad weeks, but I have friends, colleagues and family to set me straight and make me realise my worth and that that worth counts.
I run because it helps me simplify things, you can’t over complicate life when your body and brain are telling you that you are tired and the finish line/home is still a few miles away. Running helps me cut out the negative voices – when you have run a marathon or a half marathon it is a fact it is there for all to see….there are no grey areas for doubts to creep in.” – Peter Gray
I look forward to seeing you hobbling round the office! Good luck mate.
