Emotional Wellbeing in Children’s Activities – Open Course
£99.00
A workshop designed for people who run children’s groups and activities.
Our Emotional Wellbeing in Children’s Activities Individual Course includes the Your Needs Met workshop, while also addressing the needs of children’s activity providers and staff/volunteers who work with children in other settings. The course includes a module specifically designed to support wellbeing in activity groups.
We aim to help providers to meet emotional needs of staff and students through routines, patterns, and positive expectations. We equip you with the knowledge of the science behind mental health and create a wellbeing action plan using new skills to look after your own wellbeing as well as that of the children and young people that you work with.
Please contact [email protected] to find out how we can support your group or organisation.
What to expect from this course
This course is for you as well as the children you look after. It will help you to manage the emotional health of the whole group, including both the children and activity leaders or volunteers.
It will equip you with skills to talk with both children and adults about their wellbeing, help bring yourself and the group back into wellbeing and maintain an atmosphere of wellbeing in your group or activity.
This course targets the whole group through routines, patterns and positive expectations. It is about addressing the needs of the many rather than the few by reading your group like an emotional barometer and adjusting small things to help you and the children to meet your and their needs to maintain or move towards good mental health and wellbeing.
It will enable you to help you and your group reduce worry and stress without adding to pressures with quick wins and multi-faceted solutions that can be incorporated into your activity. It will also equip you with the neuroscience behind maintaining mental health and help you to create a wellbeing culture action plan.
This course has been composed from the learnings of a teaching focus group post-Covid and addresses the needs and issues that have been raised by many in classrooms across Suffolk.
