What's on at Quay Place

Each month, at Quay Place & Suffolk Mind, we focus on an emotional or physical need which supports emotional wellbeing. This month it’s the need for emotional connection.

The need for emotional connection means having a relationship where we feel accepted by another person, in a way which lets us be ourselves without fear of being judged. We might describe this as being accepted ‘warts and all’ for who we are.

Huddl Ups with Suffolk Mind

Friday 9th March, 9.30am - 12.30pm

Huddl Ups are:

  • Informal – giving you an opportunity to learn from experts in this supportive environment.
  • Collaborative - a chance to meet other parents or carers in your community dealing with similar problems.
  • Workshop style sessions - giving relevant advice and tools as well as talking through scenarios together.

Our topic this time is Addiction. Addiction is not limited to biochemical substances such as cocaine, alcohol, inhalants, or nicotine. It is increasingly possible for people to experience behavioural addictions in activities such as gambling, eating, pornography viewing, and playing video games.

As a parent or carer for a child, you will go to great lengths to protect that young person from illness and injury. Having a child succumb to addiction can come as a shock and leaves families unprepared for the consequences.

Tickets are 15, to get yours click here.
