Post Natal Depression Group
West Suffolk Mind offers a weekly Post Natal Depression group with a crèche.

If you have been diagnosed as suffering from post natal depression, West Suffolk Mind can provide support and teach practical coping techniques. You can attend a weekly group during school term times with a crèche available for your pre-school age children. Both the group and crèche are run by experienced and qualified staff.

Mothers who attend the group have a chance to talk about how they feel in a friendly, confidential environment. The best advice and support often comes from someone who is going through a similar difficulty. As well as receiving help from other mothers, you can learn practical coping techniques. These include

  • Relaxation
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Improving self-esteem
  • Assertiveness
  • Nutritional advice
  • Addressing sleep problems

These are delivered over a 10 week rolling programme so it doesn’t matter when you join, during your 10 weeks you will cover each subject.

Subject to suitability, we are able to offer you a place in a group for up to 10 weeks. If you feel you would benefit from attending a post natal depression group please ask your GP or Health Visitor or contact West Suffolk Mind.
