Peer Support Groups

These are organised and facilitated by service users and participants benefit from the exchange of mutual support.  The groups enable service users to build the skills and confidence needed to take control of their own recovery.

These groups are not run by the Community Wellbeing Service.  They have been initiated by people using mental health services in Suffolk who take responsibility for the groups themselves.  Some Peer Support Groups take place at Communtiy Wellbeing venues whilst others take place in community venues such as libraries, community centres and church halls.

Music Appreciation

The music group’s aim is to give members the opportunity to express themselves through music.  From small beginnings it has grown into a well subscribed group.  It doesn’t matter if you can’t play any instruments.

The music group has its own band named Mindset.  Mindset’s music is an eclectic mixture of modern music – anything from the 60’s onwards.  The aim of the group is to get members to perform publicly.  Much of the publicly performed music is written by the members.  Tuition is available to the individuals attending this group.
