Royal Parks Half MarathonOn a lovely sunny Sunday, Sue Garvey (our Programmes Manager) and her friend Gill Leathers ran the first Royal Parks Half Marathon. They both finished in very good times; Gill in 1.29.40 and Sue in 1.39.42.
Gill was the 5th woman to finish and was 120th overal, Sue was the 54th woman and was 633rd overall. There were 7,431 runners so both did very well!
Sue says that it was an enjoyable day; the weather was good (perhaps just a little too hot!) and the route was lovely. They runners started in Hyde Park, past Buckingham palace, across Westminster Bridge and back, along the Embankment and back, through Trafalgar Square, through Green Park and back into and around Hyde Park .
They are close to their target of raising £500 for West Suffolk Mind and both would like to thank everyone who has supported them. It is still possible to make a donation to help them meet their target; either donating at West Suffolk Mind or by donating online at www.justgiving.com/sueandgill
Thank you!
