Help us to be there to support mental wellbeing
Suffolk Mind volunteer Frances Torrington recently delivered a workshop to the young teachers of the Charity 'Brass for Africa' in Kampala, Uganda.
"The workshop was really well received, the teachers were very receptive, asking questions and initiating discussion amongst themselves. I really felt they took on board lots of what was said and will learn from it. One of the group said although they have had mental health workshops before not all of it had really made sense, he now felt he understood so much better how they could all keep themselves in better emotional health". The group are moving into new premises and have committed to creating a wellbeing wall once there with the Emotional Needs and Resource cards they were presented with. Having the cards on display they feel they can reflect on them when passing by, a useful reminder of how to stay emotionally well.
