Help us to be there to support mental wellbeing
These groups are organised and facilitated by service users and participants benefit from the exchange of mutual support. The groups enable service users to build the skills and confidence needed to take control of their own recovery.
These groups have been initiated by people using mental health services in Suffolk who take responsibility for the groups themselves. Some Peer Support Groups take place at Community Wellbeing venues whilst others take place in community venues such as libraries, community centres and church halls.
Enigma - Peer Support Group, aimed at people over age 18, who endure long term mental health problems, emotional distress and anxiety which impacts on their day to day living. The aim of the group is to support people by working through a Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Skills Workbook learning mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotional regulation and distress intolerance skills. They are not a group that advises people that they should do during their recovery journey, they offer support and encourage coping strategies and help to achieve a better understanding of positive mental health and wellbeing.
