Help us to be there to support mental wellbeing
These Community Groups are organised and facilitated by service users and participants benefit from the exchange of mutual support. The groups enable service users to build the skills and confidence needed to take control of their own recovery.
Groups held in Bury St Edmunds:
Bi-Polar Support Group - Monday (2nd of the month) 6.30-8.30pm - Held at Friends Meeting House, St Johns Street, Bury St Edmunds IP33 1SJ - This support group is run by Bi-Polar UK - 0333 323 3885 - Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lift The Cloud - This group is here to support those that have first hand experience of any mental health issues; that might be you, a friend or family member. We aim to support everybody involved. Like Minds - A safe environment for anyone struggling with their mental health. Come and have a cuppa, you can arrive or leave at any time. Make It Art Group - Thursday afternoons from 2.00pm - 4.00pm. Contact Mandy on 0300 111 6000 if you’d like to attend. We are an art group for anyone suffering with mental health. We provide a supportive, relaxed, friendly, accepting environment for anyone to enjoy time doing arts and crafts or just come along and have a cuppa and a chat!
Meditation - Mindfulness and meditation drop in group, Tuesday lunchtime 1pm to 2pm. Small friendly group, no experience necessary. Minds United - We are a mental health peer support group in Bury St Edmunds. We've been running since August 2017 and meet every Tuesday from 11am to 2.30pm at Suffolk Mind, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 1TZ. Please come and join us for a coffee and a chat. We also run creative art days which include meditation, mindfulness and gardening projects. New Foundations - Peer support group for people with Borderline Personality Disorder or traits of this. Held on a Monday 11am to 2pm at Suffolk Mind offices in Bury St Edmunds. We are here to support anyone a friendly group. Come along have a drink and chat or join in our arts and crafts. For more information call 0300 111 6000.

Anxiety & OCD Support - A friendly informal group offering companionship, support and a listening ear for anxiety, depression, OCD, hoarding & Bi-Polar. Eating Disorder Group - The Eating Recovery Group is held twice a month, alternative Thursdays between 6pm and 7.30pm. This group is for anybody seeking to improve their relationship with food and anybody managing eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia and addiction. You’ll find us in the Wherry Flint room at Quay Place, Key Street, Ipswich, IP4 1BZ.
PSN Network - The PSN Network Meetings are held at Quay Place, Key Street, Ipswich on the first Tuesday of every month. Swimming Self Help Group - This group provides a social, safe and therapeutic environment for our members to regularly meet and participate in a physical activity which is recognised to assist their mental health issues. The group meets at Fore Street Swimming Pool on Mondays (not bank holidays) from 3pm to 4pm until 10th September at a cost of £3 per session. Enigma - Peer Support Group aimed at people over age 18, who endure long term mental health problems, emotional distress and anxiety which impacts on their day to day living. We offer support and encourage coping strategies and help to achieve a better understanding of positive mental health and wellbeing.
