Help us to be there to support mental wellbeing
Suffolk Mind is a registered charity (1003061) and is also a company limited by guarantee (2611510)The origins of the charity go back to 1973 when the first housing project to support people who had mental health issues opened in Ipswich.
Suffolk Mind has a formal constitution and is governed by an unpaid Board of Trustees with day to day management delegated to a CEO. The trustees are responsible for the governance of the organisation, the delivery of safe and high quality services, and keeping financial accounts and safeguarding the assets of the charity.
Suffolk Mind is affiliated to the national charity Mind, and is known as a local Mind, delivering services to reflect the needs of people in Suffolk.
Our values are designed to ensure our culture is one of openness. Whilst we have clear boundaries between staff, trustees, other volunteers and service users, we aim to ensure that all groups are fully engaged with our work and our progress.
We believe that just as we strive for physical good health, we also need to have good mental health, whatever point we start from. Therefore we offer various different services to support people, all of which are designed to build emotional resilience.
We also educate and raise awareness to encourage us all to look after our mental wellbeing in order to maintain it – just as we might our physical health.
