East meets West East Suffolk Mind and West Suffolk Mind announce merger
East Suffolk Mind and West Suffolk Mind will merge on the 1st October 2010 to form Suffolk Mind.
East Suffolk Mind and West Suffolk Mind have been providing services to people experiencing mental health issues in Suffolk for more than 25 years. Over the last 3 years the two organisations have been working together through a strategic alliance.
Commenting on the merger, East Suffolk Mind Chief Executive Jo Searle said;
"This merger is really good news for East Suffolk Mind and for users of mental health services in Suffolk. With the combined strength of the new organisation we will be able to continue to deliver high quality, professionally led services, and be able to continue the traditions of developing innovative responses for people experiencing mental ill health."
Richard Young, Chair of West Suffolk Mind said:
"We are delighted to be joining forces with East Suffolk Mind after a long association with them. By pooling our resources and expertise in this way we can really add value to all aspects of our work . We will combine our strengths and expertise of the benefit of all people affected by mental health issues in the region."
